
Udupi, Nov 21, 2013: Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi has informed that the state government has approved the sanction of Rs 12 crore loan for the revival of the Brahmavar Sugar Factory, thereby fulfilling a long pending demand of the sugarcane growers of the region.
Informing this to reporters here on November 20, Wednesday, he said several leaders including Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, State Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake, KPCC President G Parameshwar, Udupi MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Gopal Poojari and himself had earlier made an appeal to the Chief Minister to sanction Rs 15 crore for the purpose.
He said the amount would be disbursed to clear the arrears of the factory towards the growers and its employees.
He said the government would take all decisions regarding the factory after taking the growers into confidence.
