Udupi: Fisherman dies as boat capsizes at Padukere beach

Udupi, July 11, 2025: A tragic incident occurred at the Padukere beach in Udupi, where a traditional fishing boat (known as a nada doni) capsized due to rough sea waves, resulting in the death of a fisherman.

The deceased has been identified as Neelu (48), a resident of Pithrodi.

Neelu was thrown into the sea when the boat overturned. Unfortunately, he got entangled in fishing nets and other equipment, making it impossible for him to swim to safety.

His body has been sent to the district government hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at the Malpe police station.
