Udupi: Fisherman dies after accidentally falling into the sea

Udupi, December 19, 2025: A fisherman died after accidentally falling into the Arabian Sea from a fishing boat near Madikal in Uppunda village of Byndoor.

The deceased has been identified as Harishchandra Kharvi. He had gone fishing along with other fishermen on the evening of December 15. While fishing in the middle of the sea, he is said to have accidentally fallen off the boat.

He was immediately rescued from the water by fellow fishermen and admitted to a hospital. However, as his condition was critical, he succumbed to his injuries on the morning of December 18 despite treatment.

A case has been registered at the Byndoor police station.
