Udupi, Jun 29, 2026: Malpe police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by a 69-year-old woman, Sarasu Suvarna of Badanidiyoor village, alleging that her younger son assaulted and threatened her before forcibly transferring her property into his name.
According to the complaint, Sarasu Suvarna had been living with her second son, Vinod Suvarna, in a house registered in her name. She alleged that Vinod had repeatedly pressured her to transfer the property to him. When she refused, he allegedly assaulted both her and her husband, Dasu Thingalaya, and threatened them.
The complaint further states that Vinod forcibly took Sarasu to the Sub-Registrar’s Office and had the ownership of her 11 cents of land and the house transferred to his name against her will. He is also accused of threatening her with consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Sarasu later approached the AC Court seeking legal action. After learning about the court proceedings, Vinod allegedly forced Sarasu, her husband Dasu, and their daughter Vinutha to vacate the house.
Based on the complaint, Malpe police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
