Udupi: Doctor dies of cardiac arrest while treating patient

Udupi, Dec 08, 2023: A doctor has collapsed and died of cardiac arrest while treating patients at the District Hospital here on December 7, Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Dr Shashikala.

 

Though Dr Shashikala had retired from service in February 2022 her service was continued on outsourcing basis following shortage of doctors.

She used to attend to patients in the OPD. On Thursday as she was examining patients, she all of a sudden collapsed. She was immediately rushed to the ICU and given treatment. However, she breathed her last.
