Udupi : DC warns private hospitals against denying admission to Covid patients

Udupi, Jan 08, 2022: Hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman  Bharath scheme which have to  reserve a fixed number of beds for Covid patients, will face action if they deny admission to any patient referredby the district administration, warned Udupi Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao.

 

Addressing a meeting here on January 7, Friday, he said  hospitals which violate the directive will face action under KPME Act and Disaster Management Act.

Cost of treatment of Covid patients should also be displayed prominently by the hospitals,he said.

ZP CEO Dr Naveen Bhat, Additional DC Sadashiva prabhu, District Health Officer Nagabhushan Udupa and others were present.
