Udupi: Construction material transporting Lorries on indefinite strike

Udupi, Sep 27, 2023: Owners and drivers of lorries transporting construction materials have commenced indefinite protest from September 27, Wednesday opposing the policies of the district administration and the government.

 

The protestors are alleging that the construction material transporters are facing a lot of hardships as case are being slapped on them on the pretext of one state one GPS, permit issues etc.

Due to the strike, lorries can be seen lined up on either sides of the National Highway at Byndoor, Udyavar, Katapady, Brahmavar and Sastan.

Raghavendra Shetty Katapady, President of the Building Construction Materials Transporters Association has said the protests will continue until all issues are resolved.
