Udupi: Case Filed Against SDPI Leader for Inflammatory Remarks

Udupi, July 6, 2025: A case has been registered against SDPI State Secretary Riyaz Kadambu for allegedly making inflammatory and provocative statements during a press conference that could incite communal unrest.

Police said Udupi Town Sub-Inspector Bharatesh Kankanawadi came across a video on WhatsApp on July 5, in which Riyaz was seen making baseless allegations and remarks intended to mislead the public and disturb communal harmony.

Based on the video evidence, Udupi Town Police registered a case under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
