Udupi: Car, bike, and lorry involved in serial accident at Santhekatte Junction

Udupi, July 31, 2025: A serial accident involving a lorry, a car, and a bike occurred at the Santhekatte junction on Thursday morning.

The incident happened when a lorry traveling towards Kundapur from Santhekatte rammed into a car waiting on the median to make a U-turn. The impact pushed the car forward, causing it to hit a bike that was also waiting to take a U-turn.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The Santhekatte U-turn junction is increasingly being seen as an accident-prone spot. Vehicles from both directions converge at the same narrow stretch, creating a bottleneck. The risk of accidents rises sharply during peak hours due to heavy traffic and the lack of adequate space for safe turns.
