Udupi: Bus owner, Saifuddin hacked to death at Malpe; suspected employees arrested

Udupi, Sep 27, 2025: In a shocking incident on Saturday, Saifuddin, co-owner of AKMS Tours & Travels and a known rowdy sheeter, was found hacked to death at his residence in Malpe.

Saifuddin, who ran a transport business based in Manipal, was attacked by unidentified assailants wielding swords.

Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar visited the scene to assess the situation.

Speaking to the media, SP Hariram Shankar said, “Between 10 and 11 am, AKMS bus owner Saifuddin was found dead at his Kodavoor residence. He was facing 18 cases. Preliminary information suggests that three individuals attacked him inside his house. It appears that the attackers were employees of his own company. The motive and the identities of those behind the attack will become clear once the accused are taken into custody. The assault was carried out using a talwar, and multiple injuries were observed. The suspects have been identified as drivers working for the AKMS bus company.”
