Udupi: Bus-bike collision; rider succumbs to injuries

Udupi, December 20, 2025: A motorcyclist was killed after a private bus rammed into his bike near Ambika Farm at Handadi village in Brahmavar on December 19.

The deceased has been identified as Pawan. He was travelling on his motorcycle from Barkur towards Brahmavar. Police said that while he was turning towards the Amma Shamiyan shop near Ambika Farm after giving a right indicator, a bus coming from behind on the same road hit the bike.

Due to the impact, Pawan was thrown onto the road and reportedly fell into a roadside pit. The bus dragged the motorcycle for nearly 50 feet before coming to a halt. Pawan, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, was rushed to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where he later succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station, and further investigation is underway.
