
Udupi, Jul 25, 2026: A Class 8 student who was reported missing was traced within a short time, thanks to the prompt action of the Udupi District Akka Pade team.
According to a release issued by Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, the District Control Room alerted the Akka Pade after receiving information that the eighth-grade student had gone missing.

Acting immediately, the team launched a search operation across the city, focusing on locations where the child was likely to be found.
During the search near the KSRTC Bus Stand, the team received information that the boy had boarded a bus bound for Muddebihal.
Without delay, the Akka Pade personnel intercepted the bus before it could leave the area and safely traced the missing student.
The boy was taken into protective custody and later handed over to the Women’s Police Station for further legal formalities, counselling, and reunification with his family.
Police will investigate the circumstances under which the child left home.
The Superintendent of Police said the successful operation reflects the prompt response and coordinated efforts of the District Control Room and the Akka Pade in tracing missing children and ensuring their safety. He also urged parents and guardians to report missing children to the police immediately so that timely action can be taken.
