Udupi: 4 year old boy drowns in Nandikoor temple lake

Kaup, May 12, 2025: A four year old boy accidentally drowned in the lake of a temple at Nandikoor during a wedding ceremony on May 11, Sunday.

The deceased boy is Vasudeva, son of Satyanarayana and Sowmya couple of Kurkalu in Kaup. The family had been to the Nandikoor Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple to attend a wedding. When Sowmya was feeding her one year old younger child in the dining hall, Vasudeva too was beside her. However when Sowmya went to wash her hands and returned, Vasudeva was found missing following which a frantic search was launched. Later the child’s body was found floating in the temple lake. The child was immediately lifted and rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

A case has been registered in Padubidri police station.
