Udupi: 20-year-old II PUC student reported missing from Katapady

Udupi, Feb 24, 2026: A 20-year-old girl pursuing her second-year Pre-University (PU) course has been reported missing from Katapady, police said.

The missing student has been identified as Deepa Suresh Lamani (20), a native of Basavana Bagewadi taluk in Vijayapura district. She was staying in a rented house at Anegudde in Katapady while studying at a college in the city.

According to police, Deepa took leave from college on February 20 and left her residence but did not return. A missing person case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace her.

Deepa is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a brown complexion and medium build. She is fluent in Kannada, Lambani, and Hindi.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is requested to contact the Kaup Police Station.
