Two women seriously injured after tipper hits scooter near Haleyangadi

Haleyangadi, May 15, 2026: Two women sustained injuries after a tipper truck rammed into their scooter near the Indira Nagar railway gate in Haleyangadi on Friday.

The injured have been identified as Prathibha and Vani, both residents of Indira Nagar.

According to reports, the women, who are relatives, were travelling on a scooter from their residence to Mukka for work when the accident occurred. A speeding tipper truck reportedly hit their scooter on a narrow stretch of road near the Indira Nagar railway gate.

Prathibha suffered severe leg injuries, while Vani escaped with minor injuries.

Local residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured women to a private hospital in Mukka for treatment.

Traffic police from the North Division visited the spot and carried out an inspection.
