Two men suffer electric shock while installing banner; 1 dies another critical

Belthangady, Nov 09, 2022: One person lost his life while another sustained critical injuries after they were electrocuted while putting up a  banner for a Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh event, alongside the National Highway close by the Belthangady bus stand on November 8, Tuesday night.

 

The deceased is Prashanth Acharya (32) of Belthangady. He was the driver of a goods vehicle. Satish (25) of Koyyur has sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

It is learnt, the organisation had given the contract of putting up banners to a private printers and the work was underway at around 7 pm when the iron rod of the banner came into contact with the live wire landing both Satish and Prashanth on the ground.

Though both of them were rushed to the hospital where Prashanth  lost his life while the other person is in a critical condition.

Belthangady police have registered a case.
