Revealing further details regarding the arrest, Manjunath, the sub inspector of Ullal Police Station, said that he had rushed to the spot even before the public learned about the incident. The arrested are Siyabuddin (31) of Malappuram in Kerala and P. Ibrahim (48) of Maladi, he said and added that they were arrested after being caught red-handed vandalizing the mosque by the mosque’s management committee.

Siyabuddin, who appears to be mentally imbalanced, threw stones at the doors and windows of the mosque after first offering namaz last night, said SI Manjunath. He said that the local people had witnessed Siyabuddin offering prayers in the Masjid at midnight while Ibrahim was sleeping there. An hour after the namaz, Siyabuddin turned violent and started throwing stones around.

The members of the management committee heard the noise, caught the two red-handed, and handed them over to the Ullal Police.
