
Mangaluru, Nov 9, 2025: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 24.57 grams of MDMA, a synthetic narcotic drug valued at ₹2.4 lakh, in two separate operations conducted earlier this week.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Salam (39) of Adyar Kannur, Mangaluru, and Mohammed Nasir (28) of Boliyar in Ullal taluk. According to police, the duo was involved in supplying MDMA to students and other customers in different parts of the city.

On November 4, CCB officials nabbed Abdul Salam, an autorickshaw driver, for allegedly carrying and selling MDMA near the fishing harbour and Bunder area. Police seized MDMA worth ₹1.2 lakh, his autorickshaw, a mobile phone, a weighing machine, and other items. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Mangaluru South Police Station.
In a follow-up operation on November 6, the CCB arrested Mohammed Nasir for allegedly selling drugs in the Boliyar area. MDMA valued at ₹1.2 lakh, his motorcycle, a mobile phone, and other materials were seized. A separate case under the NDPS Act was registered at the Konaje Police Station.
Police said efforts are underway to trace others suspected to be involved in the drug network connected to the two accused.
In a separate case, the Puttur Town Police arrested four persons for alleged drug consumption. The accused — Mubarak (21), Hitesh (21), Abdul Anas (21), and Umar Farooq (41) — were found behaving suspiciously at Kallandaka in Kabaka village on November 5. Following medical tests that confirmed drug use, they were arrested and booked under Section 27(B) of the NDPS Act.
