Twin Brothers Drown in Pond Near Home in Sullia

Sullia, June 21, 2026: Two five-year-old brothers were found drowned in a pond near their house at Kadeer in Murulya village under the Bellare police station limits on Saturday.

According to a complaint lodged by Vasantha (41), the children had returned home from school on Friday afternoon. Later in the evening, Vasantha and his wife went to work in a nearby plantation, leaving the children at home.

When the mother returned after work, the children were missing. A search was launched in the vicinity, during which the bodies of the two boys were found in a pond near their residence.

The complainant suspects that the children accidentally fell into the pond while playing and drowned.

Based on the complaint, Bellare Police have registered an unnatural death case (UDR No. 22/2026) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and have initiated further investigation.
