Tumkur University confers honorary doctorate on Pejawar Seer

Mangalore, December 5:  The Tumkur University of Tumkur conferred the honorary doctorate on Shree Vishweshwara Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt in recognition of his social welfare activities on Dec 4, Saturday. Governor H. R. Bharadwaj conferred the honorary doctorate on the seer during the university’s fourth convocation ceremony on Saturday.

The honorary doctorate was also conferred on Dr. V. K. Saraswat, the director general of the Defense Research and Development Organization; Justice Dalveer Bhandari, the Supreme Court judge; Dr. Niloufer Adil Kazmi; Dr. Seetharam Jindal, the head of the Jindal Aluminum Company; and Lakshman Das, the Harikatha artiste.

Dr. V. S. Acharya, the higher education minister, was also present.
