Tulu Language Protection Committee stages protest

Mangaluru, Sep 30, 2022: Members of the Tulu Bhashe Samrakshana Samithi staged a protest in front of the Mini Vidhana Saudha for making it mandatory to have Kannada  nameboards in government offices and buses and thereby neglecting Tulu.

 

 

 

 

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath who met the protestors assured his support for the cause of Tulu and also promised to hold a meeting of all Tulu organisations to discuss the demand to include Tulu in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

He also said there is no hindrance to anyone in having boards written in Tulu.
The protestors later pasted posters in Tulu script to a bus.
