Trees uprooted, electric poles damaged as heavy rains lash Belthangady

Belthangady, May 1, 2025: Heavy rains and strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning on Wednesday evening in various parts of Belthagnady caused damages to property.

A huge tree uprooted and fell on the college road in Ujire while another tree fell over a motorcycle. The rider Amit had a miraculous escape.

In yet another incident, a coconut tree fell on the house of Vanitha Shetty in Laila village damaging the roofing of the house.

Over ten electric poles were damaged due to strong winds in Ujire.
