Mangalore, Nov 10, 2012 : The Thiruvananthapuram – Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express caught fire on the morning of Nov 9, Friday, but was put off in time thanks to a group of alert railway employees.
The train had reached Bijoor in Byndoor at 7:50 a.m. when railway employees stationed at the Bijoor Railway Gate noticed that one of the bogies was on fire, stopped the train immediately, and asked passengers to leave the bogie.
The flames were doused and the train was thoroughly examined, before it was allowed to continue its journey.
The train arrived half an hour late, but all the passengers were safe because of the alertness of the railway employees.
