Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2022: The facility to pay traffic rule violation penalty fee through post offices was launched by City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar on November 14, Monday. The penalty amount of cases filed through automation facility can henceforth be paid at post offices.
Speaking on the occasion, City Police Commissioner said the facility is presently available in 32 post offices. He said the penalty has to be paid along with the postal fee and hoped the postal fee would soon be waived.
He said tenders have been invited to install 97 CCTV cameras in the city limits at a cost of Rs 1 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Sriharsha N, Senior Postal Superintendent of Mangaluru Division, said the fine can be paid in 126 post offices in Dakshina Kannada, 62 in Udupi and overall 2,702 post offices across the state.
Assistant Postal Superintendent of Mangaluru Division Srinath, DCP (Law and Order) Anshu Kumar, Traffic ACP Geetha Kulakarni and others were present.
