Traffic restrictions imposed to facilitate smooth flow of Mangalore Dasara procession

divert trafficMangalore, Oct 5: Vehicle movement has been modified to facilitate the smooth flow of the Mangalore Dasara procession and the Car Festival of Mangaladevi Temple on Oct 6 Thursday.


The idols of Goddess Sharada and the Navadurgas will be taken in a procession from Lord Gokarnanatha Temple Kudroli at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. It will pass through Mannagudda, Lady Hill, PVS Circle, Navabharath Circle, Hampankatta, KB Circle, Mohini Vilas, Car Street, Balaji, and will return to Kudroli Temple, after which the idols will be immersed in the tank of the temple.


Restrictions on vehicle movement will be imposed at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and will be in effect till the procession concludes on Friday morning. For Mangaladevi Car Festival, traffic restrictions will be placed from 7:00 p.m. on Oct 6. 


The Mangalore Dasara procession will comprise attractive tableux adorned with electric lights, Huli vesha teams, chende teams from Kerala, Dolu dancers from Maharashtra, Balamuralikrishna Kolata performances from Andhra Pradesh, colorful umbrellas from Trichur, and much more. People can witness as many as 100 tableaux in this procession.
