Tourists, vendors clash at Malpe beach, complaints lodged

Udupi, June 11, 2025: A clash ensued between a group of tourists from Mandya and local vendors near the Malpe beach on June 10, Tuesday night, reportedly over the issue of providing additional pani puri.

The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm. The tourists reportedly demanded additional pani puri from the roadside vendors which soon turned into a scuffle.

Following this, both sides lodged complaint and counter complaint.

In the first case, Sudeep, Sampath, Puneeth, Mahesh, Kanna Vaiji and Aravind were named accused while Ramesh, Monu and Vinod were named as accused in another complaint.
