Tourists assault life guard at Malpe beach

Udupi, May 09, 2024: A life guard at the Malpe beach was assaulted by a group of six tourists on May 8, Wednesday evening.

 

The life guard Teja Kotian had earlier warned the tourists against venturing into the waters as the sea was turbulent. Still the tourists had continued swimming when Teja Kotian stepped in again to caution them. Instead of heeding to the life guard, the tourists had begun assaulting him. The life guard was then rescued by other  life guards at the beach.

A case has been registered in Malpe police station.
