
Mangalore Dec 26, 2012 : Mangalore MLA UT Khader has informed that the Centre has approved an alternate three span flyover project near Tokkottu junction along the Mangalore-Kasargod highway and the works are likely to begin in a month’s time.

Speaking to reporters, on December 25, Tuesday, he said the proposed fly over of 100 meters would ensure two way traffic instead of the earlier project of 30 meters.
He said the NHAI plans of having an elevated highway would mean more inconvenience. Furthermore, it would also be a one-way flyover, he said adding the new fly over of three spans would be more beneficial to the public.
Khader also informed that there were even plans to have a flyover at Pumpwell junction and the government would release Rs 26 crore for the same.
He said the task of constructing submersible artificial reef to check sea erosion would begin at Ullal coast in the second week of January.
Khader was also highly critical of the authorities for cancelling one out of the three KSRTC buses on the Mangalore–Mudipu sector and alleged the government had only bowed to the lobby of private bus operators.
