Three Workers Trapped in Temple Well Rescued in Karkala

Karkala, May 10, 2026: Three workers engaged in cleaning sludge and mud from a well at the Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple in Kukkundoor were rescued after getting trapped inside the well on Sunday morning.

The incident came to light around 10.30 am, following which personnel from the Karkala Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.


Three Workers Trapped in Temple Well


The trapped workers were identified as Rajesh (42), Pavan (29), and Gopal Naik (52).

The fire and rescue team successfully brought all three workers out of the well safely. They were later shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The rescue operation was led by fire station officer Albert Monis. Fire personnel Roopesh, Suresh, Dinesh, Ganesh, Nithyananda, and driver Mujamil took part in the operation.
