Thokkottu man arrested for raping, blackmailing young woman

Mangaluru, May 14, 2022: The City Crime Branch cops have arrested a man from Thokkottu on the charges of rape and extortion.

The accused is Shaan Nawaz (36).  He has been charged with raping a young woman from Moodbidri after promising to marry her.

 

It has been alleged that he had drugged the girl and had physically abused her and had even captured  videos of her when he had taken her to lodges.

It is learnt he had later begun blackmailing the woman  for cash  and even threatened to release her nude pictures.

Following a complaint lodged by the aggrieved woman at the Women’s Police Station, the accused was arrested. He has been produced before the court and remanded to police custody for seven days.
