
Kundapura, Oct 09, 2023: Thieves who broke into a house at Jansale of Siddapura village in Kundapura, sometime between October 5 and 8, while the family was away on a pilgrimage to the Tirupati temple.

The theft occurred in the house of Sukanya Kini, when the occupants of the house were away to Tirupati on October 5. Upon their return on the morning of October 8, they were greeted with a shattered front door and signs of a thorough ransacking of their property.
The culprits had skillfully manipulated the front door lock with the aid of hooks, discarding both the lock and hooks into the well located in front of the house. The police successfully retrieved these items using a magnet.
Among the stolen items were a five-sovereign golden chain adorned with pearls, a one-sovereign gold coin, silverware, and a sum of Rs 10,000 in cash.
The Shankaranarayana police team promptly arrived at the scene of the crime, accompanied by a canine unit and fingerprint experts, all working diligently to uncover any potential leads.
