Thieves break into house, steal jewelry worth Rs. 12 lakh

Mangalore, Oct 25, 2011: Thieves broke into Mubarak Manzil, a house belonging to Naushad, who was away visiting his in-law’s house in Moodubidri, and stole gold jewelry worth Rs. 12 lakh on Oct 24 Monday.

Naushad’s brother, who came home at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, discovered the theft. The thieves had broken open the back door of the house and had stolen 62 sovereigns of gold.

Police feel that the thieves might be someone who knew about the habits of the family and had been observing them for a long time.

The Ullal police have registered the case.
