Temporary safety measures after death of auto driver in overflowing storm water drain

Mangaluru, May 27, 2024: Following the recent incident at Abbakka Nagar in Kottara Chowki wherein an autorickshaw driver lost his life after the vehicle fell into an overflowing storm water drain in the area, the MCC has taken some precautionary measures.

 

MCC authorities have placed sand filled bags, barricades and reflector tape at the edge of the storm water drain to prevent further untoward incidents. Even senior officials including the Commissioner have visited the spot.

It may be recalled here that driver Deepak Acharya had lost life in the tragic incident. Already a case has been registered against MCC officials for negligence following the incident.
