Teenager suicide case; youth booked for harassment

Bantwal, May 05, 2022: The death of a tenth standard student, 14 year old Athmika from Kaniyoor in Kanyana village has taken a new twist with the police filing a case against a youth for harassing the girl. It has been alleged that the accused identified as Hameed (30) of Kanyana used to pester the girl to love him and that the girl ended her life out of frustration.

 

The deceased girl’s father Sanjeeva  lodged a complaint against Hameed following which a  case was registered. The girl  was reportedly in touch with Hameed over phone following which her father had taken away her mobile phone and also  had  cautioned Hameed and his brother to keep distance from her. It is learnt, still Hameed used to visit the girl’s house when others were away and torture her.

The girl’s parents have now alleged that Hameed’s torture had forced their daughter to end life.
