Teenage girl dies after consuming fried fish

Mangalore, Aug 8, 2011:A 17-year-old girl died after consuming fried fish in Pachchanady on Aug 7 Sunday. She appears to have expired because of certain poisonous substances that were produced when the fish was being fried.

 

 

 

The deceased Sushmitha, the daughter of Manjunath, had fried two fish in refined oil. Just a few minutes after consuming the fish, she fell unconscious and was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic. When her condition did not improve, she was shifted to AJ Hospital on Sunday afternoon, where she died.

Jayaprakash, the maternal uncle of Sushmita, lodged a complaint at the rural police station. A case has already been registered and the police are now waiting for the post mortem report.
