Teen Drowns While Swimming in Belthangady Pond

Belthangady, March 29, 2026: A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a pond at Antrayapalke in Nada village of Belthangady taluk on Saturday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Hafeez, son of Hasanabba and a resident of Kuntini in Ujire village.

According to reports, Hafeez was among a group of four boys who had gone swimming at Antraya Gundi when the incident occurred.

The body has been shifted to the Belthangady Taluk Government Hospital. Police have visited the spot and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
