Technical snag in flight delays arrival of mortal remains of Archbishop Fr Ambrose Madtha

Mangalore, Dec 15, 2012: The mortal remains of Papal Envoy to Ivory Coast and Indian Archbishop Rev Ambrose Madtha, which was scheduled to be brought to Mangalore on December 14, Friday, has not yet arrived. Reports say a technical snag in the special flight which was supposed to carry the mortal remains, has delayed the arrival.

Sources said the flight had to be grounded at Ethiopia. There is no information as two yet when the flight would land in Mangalore. According to latest reports, the mortal remains would be directly taken to Belthangady for the last rites.
 On December 14, Friday, a requiem Mass was held at Rosario Cathedral in Mangalore. The mass was led by Salvatore Pennacchio, Apostolic Nunica to India, Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore and Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore.
  Fr Denis Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, Fr William Menezes, PRO of Mangalore Diocese, Dr Fanco Mulakkal, Bishop of Delhi Archdiocese, Fr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary and several priests attended the mass.
