Mangaluru, Oct 03, 2022: A technical defect in the engine of the Bengaluru-Kannur train resulted in the train arriving five hours behind schedule at the Mangaluru Central Station on October 2, Sunday.
The train which left Bengaluru at 9.30 pm was scheduled to reach Mangaluru Central at 7.15 am. However there was an engine defect when the train reached Solur and the train was halted. Later another engine was brought from Yeshwanthapur and fixed to the train which reached Mangaluru at 12.15 noon.
Many travellers who were on way to Mangaluru in the train to participate in the Dasara festivities were inconvenienced due to the delay.
