Swamy Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary committee to hold ‘Bharat Jago Doud’

Mangalore, Sep 4, 2013: As part of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda, the celebration committee will hold ‘Bharat Jago Doud’, a run for nation from Jyothi Circle to Central Maidan on September 11, Wednesday at 9.30 am. 

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Sep 4, Wednesday Ravindra P, divisional convener of the committee said that, September 11 is day when Vivekananda had delivered a speech in Chicago, hence the youth and general public from all the centers in the district will hold the nationwide run with the theme ‘Bharatha Elali- Vishwavannecharisali’ , an awareness programe and make it a Victory day.

He also said that a total of 20,000 participants including students and common public are expected to participate in the run. 

Similar kind of ‘Doud’ will be organized in Puttur, Udupi and Madikeri.

The committee will also form a working committee in the national and divisional level for the Birth Anniversary celebration involving the scholars, young achievers and others.

Committee members Advocate Suvrath Kumar, Harshavardhan and B Ramesh were present.
