Suratkal: Groups clash over a minor mishap ; complaint, counter-complaint lodged

Mangaluru, Feb 09, 2023: Tension prevailed at Ganeshpura-Kaikamba of Suratkal police station limits on February 8, Wednesday night  after there was a fracas between two groups over a minor accident. Complaint and counter complaint has been lodged in this connection.

 

It has been gathered that the clash broke out over the issue of a car brushing past a bike. Suratkal police who rushed to the spot  brought the situation under control.

The car which brushed past the bike belonged to Adil, the brother of Fazil who was killed by assailants at Suratkal recently. When the car brushed past a bike, the rider Nagesh lost control and fell on the road. This led to an altercation between people of two communities who gathered at the spot.

Police immediately brought the situation under control by dispersing the crowd. Bike rider Nagesh and Adil’s uncle Umar Farooq have been hospitalised.

Police have stepped up security in the area following the incident.
