Surathkal: Wheat-laden truck overturns, heavy loss reported

Mangaluru, Sep 3, 2025: A truck carrying wheat overturned on the highway near Surathkal on September 2, spilling wheat worth several lakhs onto the road.

The accident occurred near Suraj Hotel when a car in front slowed down to take a turn. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the car, the truck driver swerved, lost control, and the vehicle toppled.

The spilled wheat caused losses estimated in lakhs. The truck was cleared using a JCB to restore smooth traffic flow.
