Sunkadakatte theft case solved, police arrest 3

Mangalore, Apr 1, 2012: The police have arrested 3 men in connection with a theft at a house in Sunkadakatte and have seized the stolen valuables from them. 


The arrested Chethan of Padu Peraru, Krishna Bilayi, and Bachu Mandal of Bengal were brought before the media at a press conference held in the office of Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner.

The thieves had entered Saroja’s house in her absence, tied up her niece Geetha, and stole valuables worth Rs. 10 lakh. Mr. Seemanth Kumar said that this case was sensational because it happened in broad daylight in a residential area. 


Congratulating the police officers responsible for cracking the case, he especially thanked Tilak Chandra, the circle inspector of Pandeshwar; Dinakar Shetty, the Bajpe SI; and SI Ananth Murudeshwar and his team.


Chethan, the ring leader, is a local person who has several cases booked against him. His accomplices are from West Bengal. 


Mrs. Saroja Salian presented an award of Rs. 25,000 to Dinakar Shetty and his team and Rs. 2000 to the special branch constable for solving the case.
