Sunil Kumar accepts defeat gracefully

Udupi, March 22, 2012 : Speaking about the results of the recently concluded Udupi – Chikmagalur Lok Sabha by polls, Sunil Kumar of the BJP said that the results were completely unexpected and that he considers it as his personal defeat and will not hold anybody responsible for it.

Addressing party workers in the office of the district BJP on March 21 Wednesday, Sunil Kumar expressed his opinion that he was defeated because he could not reach out to all voters within the 18 days of campaigning. He said that, far from being disheartened by his defeat, he will go on a tour of the constituency from tomorrow.

Urging the party to accept the defeat as a challenge and to get ready for the upcoming legislative assembly polls and the general elections of 2014, he expressed his gratefulness to all those who voted for him.

Pranesh, the district president of the Chikmagalur BJP; Uday Kumar, the president of the Udupi BJP; Sulochana Bhat, the vice president of the state BJP; MLA Raghupathi Bhat; and others were also present.
