Sullia: Youth wielding machete creates fear in Kanakamajalu

Sullia, Aug 10, 2022: A young man created a panicky situation at Sunnamoole in Kanakamajalu village of Sullia taluk by moving around on the streets wielding a machete in hand.

 

The youth has been identified as local resident Sandeep. A video of him wielding machete has gone viral on social media and locals have urged the Police Department to initiate action in this case.

Locals said the youth had resorted to such an act out of anger over denial of permission to  put up a banner in Kanakamajalu offering tributes to BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru who was hacked to death in Bellare recently.

However, local panchayat authorities said no one has approached the panchayat seeking permission to put up flex banner. However  the Panchayat has permitted putting up of banner made of cloth.

Police who have visited the village have reportedly seized the machete used by the youth.
