Sullia: Woman dies of excessive bleeding after delivery; medical negligence alleged

Sullia, June 6, 2025: A case of medical negligence has been registered in Sullia police station after a woman died of excessive bleeding after child birth.

Twenty eight year old Madhura, sister of Surendra K K of Sampaje in Madikeri had delivered a baby at the Sullia taluk hospital on June 3. As she suffered from excessive bleeding later at night, doctors there recommended to shift her to Ladygoschen Hospital in Mangaluru. She was  shifted to the hospital at around 11.30 pm but died later on.

A complaint lodged by the woman’s family has alleged medical negligence as the cause of the death. Sullia police have registered a case of unnatural death.
