Sullia: Woman dies, 19 injured in head on collision between two KSRTC buses

Sullia, June 26, 2025: A 50 year-old woman passenger died on the spot and 19 others were injured when two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses collided head on in Aranthod village of Sullia taluk on Mani-Mysuru National Highway 275 on Wednesday, June 25 evening.

Police gave the name of the deceased as Bharathi, native of Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. Of the 19 injured, two were in serious condition and all the injured were admitted to different hospitals, police said.

While one KSRTC bus was moving from Sullia to Madikeri the other was coming from the opposite direction, from Madikeri to Sullia, when the mishap occurred at Kodankeri in Aranthod village. Sullia police have registered a case and are investigating. Police got the buses involved in the accident removed from the road to facilitate traffic movement.
