Sullia: Tipu Circle row hots up; protest staged

Sullia, Jan 25, 2014 :  The Tipu Circle row at Navoor in Sullia  continues to rage. Though the unauthorised circle constructed on Eid Milad day was vacated recently following opposition,  recently, the Nagarika Hitharakshana Vedike staged a protest at the same venue demanding  reconstruction of the Circle at the same spot.

 

Rafiq Padu, Sattar Sangam, KS Ummar and others who participated in the protest demanded that they be allowed to reconstruct the circle at the same spot or else vacate all unauthorised constructions.

The local Tahsildar who met the agitators urged them to adhere to the law and also pointed out that there has been no unauthorised construction in the area since the past one year.

However, the protestors who were not ready to accept this, set a 15 day deadline and added that they will construct the Circle at the same spot if the administration did not initiate the process of vacating unauthorised constructions by then.
