Sullia: Police seize Kerala lottery tickets from man for illegal sale

Sullia, Feb 3, 2026: Police have seized a large quantity of Kerala state lottery tickets from a man for allegedly transporting them to sell at inflated prices.

Acting on a tip-off, Sullia Police intercepted Cibi M L (58), a resident of Chambu village, Balembi post, Madikeri, on February 2 near the Kallugundi outpost. He was travelling on a motorcycle when stopped for inspection.

Police recovered 1,220 Kerala state lottery tickets of various denominations, valued at around Rs 72,000, along with purchase receipts. The accused had reportedly bought the tickets from Bandadka in Kerala and intended to sell them in Sampaje at higher prices.

The lottery tickets, the accused’s mobile phone, and his motorcycle were seized for further investigation. A case has been registered under Section 7(iii) of the Lottery Regulation Act, 1998 at Sullia Police Station.
