Sullia: Man escapes narrowly as coconut tree crashes into house courtyard

Sullia, Jun 16, 2026: A coconut tree standing in front of a house snapped and fell into the courtyard of the residence in Paichar, Sullia.

A man who was standing in the courtyard had a narrow escape from the mishap. The incident occurred while he was collecting rainwater dripping from the roof slab into a bucket. On noticing the coconut tree falling, he immediately ran to safety and escaped unhurt.

It is learnt that his mother had been standing at the same spot shortly before the incident occurred. The dramatic moment of the tree collapsing was captured on CCTV footage.
