Sullia: Man defrauded of Rs 2.9 lakh in cryptocurrency investment scam

Sullia, Oct 25, 2025: A case has been registered at Mangalore Central Police Station after a Sullia resident was defrauded of several lakh rupees in the name of cryptocurrency investment and trading.

The victim, a 50-year-old man from Keremule, Sullia, had downloaded an app following a recommendation via ChatGPT. Through the app, he came in contact with a person named Isha Singh and later communicated via Telegram chat. Isha Singh allegedly persuaded him to invest in cryptocurrency trading. Trusting the instructions, the victim invested a total of Rs 2,90,000 and subsequently fell prey to the scam.
